The University of Missouri's Chess Team prepares for another season. Christian Chirila is the coach of the recently established team, formed only three years ago in a partnership with St. Louis Chess Club. The team has quickly become known for its globally-ranked players and is preparing to compete with four other top colleges in the prestigious President’s Cup.
In print, the story ran as CP on March 14, 2023. I worked with designers to choose a photo for 1A. I thought this one showed their teamwork and strong community among their small and talented list of members.
